Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines Launches New Seamless Sea-to-Air Transit

Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines has introduced a tax-free sea-to-air service connecting six mainland China ports, enabling passengers to seamlessly transit through Hong Kong International Airport.

On Tuesday, the airline announced the launch of this innovative service, developed in collaboration with Chu Kong Passenger Transport. This new offering, under a code-share agreement, includes ports in Dongguan Humen, Guangzhou Nansha, Guangzhou Pazhou, Shenzhen Fuyong, Shenzhen Shekou, and Zhongshan.

Starting Tuesday, passengers can purchase a single ticket for both high-speed ferry and air travel, identified by the “HB” code, through designated travel agents in mainland China or the airline’s customer service center.

These six key ports are part of the Greater Bay Area, which connects Hong Kong and Macau with nine cities in Guangdong province, an area that Beijing aims to transform into a major economic hub.

Greater Bay Airlines highlighted the service’s “one-stop convenience,” allowing passengers to complete immigration and check-in procedures at their departure port. They can then travel via high-speed ferry to the airport’s SkyPier and directly proceed to their flight’s designated boarding gates.
