Justice Department asks court to unseal Trump Mar-a-Lago estate FBI search warrant

Donald Trump said late on Thursday that he won’t oppose a move by the Justice Department to make public the search warrant for Monday’s FBI raid on his Florida residence.

He wrote on Truth Social: “Not only will I not oppose the release of documents related to the unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in of my home in Palm Beach, Florida, Mar-a-Lago, I am going a step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of those documents.”

He added: “Release the documents now!”

FBI agents were looking for “classified nuclear documents” during the raid, according to a new report. The Department of Justice has filed a motion to unseal the search warrant used by federal agents to seize documents from the former president’s Florida home.

Attorney general Merrick Garland announced the move earlier on Thursday, stressing that the decision was not taken lightly and that he personally authorised the decision to seek the warrant.

The former president and some members of his legal team have claimed without providing proof that agents may have planted evidence at his home.
